Devil of the Deep[]

It was seen in the Season 8 finale episode, "Devil of the Deep". In this episode, five dead fishermen allegedly washed up on a beach on Mexico's Sea of Cortez. Jeremy Wade traveled to the Baja Peninsula searching for the culprit. Although he was unable to find the alleged marine biologist who was called to investigate the case, he found other reports that were certainly genuine.

Mysterious bite marks found on victims pointed to a squid as an attacker, and Wade soon realized that only one squid, the Humboldt Squid, fit the descriptions of the "Diablo Rojo," the creature blamed for the attacks. Wade also heard that the Diablo Rojo had left Mexican waters, so he tracked it to its lair, Peru.

Once in Peru, he teamed up with a group of Humboldt squid fishermen, and went with them on a ride to the deep trenches where the squid reside. However, Wade and his whole crew quickly became horribly sea sick, especially the cameraman. Finally, they reached the lair of this beast, and Wade precariously caught some specimens. They appeared to be highly aggressive, and bit the lure frequently.

Wade concluded the episode by stating that the initial report was a hoax, and if people were attacked and killed by Humboldt squid, they would end up being completely devoured and would never end up on the shore. Some reports of victims who were retrieved from the grasp of these monsters tell of the bodies being so heavily chewed that the family of the victims could not even recognize or identify them. So Wade concludes the episode by saying that the reality in this case is even scarier than the fiction.
